Marion General Hospital Purchases TRACE to Support Workflow Marion, IN, April 2, 2008Marion General Hospital has contracted with The White Stone Group to purchase TRACE, technology designed to manage routine healthcare communication. Marion General will use TRACE to streamline and document workflow between departments and with payers and physicians. Initial goals are to improve productivity in case management and support denial management efforts in the business office. “We have great potential for saving time and avoiding unnecessary denials by using TRACE to support our existing work processes,” said Jan Robinson in the IT department. TRACE is a communication event management system that captures, indexes, and archives routine communication for retrieval through a central, web-based tracking system. Records are used to improve reimbursement, increase productivity and enhance quality system-wide. In the next phase of implementation, Marion General will use FaxCert to manage inbound physician orders. This solution will address the problem of an order going to one department and a patient going to a different area for service. With TRACE, all departments can retrieve incoming faxes from a central repository, providing better service to the patient and the ordering physician. Marion General Hospital (MGH) is a tax-exempt hospital that operates under the auspices of a 17-member board of directors. With a dedicated, qualified and professional hospital and auxiliary staff of more than 1,300, MGH is teamed with more than 100 physicians from multiple specialties to meet the healthcare needs of its community.
